Some Ghanaian medical students who fled war-torn Ukraine have started their internship at the Battor Catholic Hospital in the North Tongu Constituency of the Volta Region.
This was announced by the lawmaker for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
The first batch of students, commenced work on Monday, 25 April 2022.
According to the North Tongu lawmaker, the medical students from Ukraine will be provided free accommodation.
The students will also be paid during their time at the hospital.
The paid internship and free accommodation initiative is for interested medical students who fled Ukraine.
This initiative of the North Tongu lawmaker, is to provide the students with the opportunity to put into practice what they studied during their time in Ukraine and also gain more experience in their field of study, while they wait to go back to school.
