Always wash your face before bed, and gently cleanse your eye area with a clean, cool washcloth (avoid using soap or cleanser in the eye area).
- Remove eye makeup thoroughly before you turn in for the night, using an eye makeup remover and a cotton pad or a makeup removing wipe made for the area around your eyes.
- Avoid touching and rubbing your eyes throughout the day, as much as you are able, and make sure your hands have been recently washed if you do have to touch your eyes.
- Remove your contact lenses before you lie down for the night, and don’t try to extend the life of your contacts beyond what the manufacturer recommends.
